Film Journal 7/14 - If I Can Pay My Actors So Can Disney

So...

There's this strike happening.

Now, it's probably apparent that The Magpie Film Company is not a huge business. But I have to say that I am on the side of the actors and the writers here.

Our productions have miniscule budgets.

But you know what we don't scrimp on? Paying people.

Every actor that we hire is paid a day rate and a percentage of the profits for every film they do with us. Our days are always under 6 hours. And, we are respectful and professional of every artist we employ.

So If we can do it, why can't a multi-billion dollar corporation?

Pay The Writers.

Pay The Actors.

Treat People Fairly.
